Now let me blow your mind because you wouldn't guess looking at her...
...she is 48 years young!
In the NPC Cali Championships, Camille went head to head against females in their 20's and 30's. Through her training, posing, and dieting, she beat them all! Her fellow competitors were shocked to find out her age because she looks fabulous for 48!
As you can see from the pictures, Camille is super lean! There is no body fat on her! When I perform chiropractic work and muscle therapy on her, I feel like I working on an anatomy chart because I can see every muscle striation in every single muscle! Yeah, she is ripped!
Camille got into figure competitions because she was looking for something new to challenge herself. She hasn't been competing long, but she has already made a huge splash in the game! Her next competition will be in Pittsburgh, PA, about 5 weeks from now. When, not if, she wins, she will earn her pro status!
Earning her pro card is the goal because she will get sponsored from companies and will be able to compete and travel as an endorsed athlete. It takes extreme discipline to make it to the pro level, but Camille is dedicated and driven. She has her eyes on the prize so intensely that you can feel it when she talks about it!
I know I am excited for her to earn her pro card because she deserves it! And after her Pittsburgh show, she can finally go have some pizza and beer with me! Hahahaha
Recently, a client came to me dealing with pain on the outside of their knee for a couple of months, which has progressively been getting worse. Professionally, they are a nurse which means long hours standing on hard hospital floors. After performing a thorough orthopedic and neurological exam to rule out red flags, we proceeded with the session.
During our session I did adjustments to the knee, ankle, foot, and hip. Then I did trigger point work to the muscles around the knee, along with scraping and Vibracussor therapy. The goal of the adjustments and extensive soft tissue work is to increase the range of motion in the joints, muscles, and fascia. If any of those are restricted, it can cause a decrease in range of motion along the leg. So it is important to address everything, since everything in the body is connected.
After our 30 minute session, the client had more range of motion in their knee, hip, and ankle. Restoring proper motion - through adjustments and muscle work - to the entire leg takes stress off the knee. They had no pain when they got off the table. They could even stand, walk, and squat with no pain, which was huge for the client.
Definitely had great results after one session. I typically get better results than most Bakersfield chiropractors because I take the time to work on them. Other chiropractors rush their patients in and out, with the average visit time of being 3-5 minutes and most do not do any soft tissue/muscle work. To me, that isn't quality or effective care. I give my clients 15, 30, and 60 minutes session options so they do not feel rushed and they receive excellent therapy.
Benefits of Adjustments
A chiropractic adjustment is a common therapeutic treatment for joint dysfunction that leads to muscle tightness and pain. An adjustment refers to a chiropractor applying manipulation to the joints that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally with the objective being to reduce joint dysfunction, increasing range of motion, reducing pain, and improving function.
Benefits of Scraping
Scraping is a soft tissue mobilization technique that helps to aid your body in healing from soft tissue injuries. A variety of tools in different shapes and sizes are used and “scraped” against the area of dysfunction in the muscle. This helps to break up the restrictions in your muscle and to reduce soft tissue muscle restrictions. Scraping can be beneficial to patients with scar tissue, fascia restrictions, strained muscles, localized swelling, decreased range of motion and more.
Benefits of Vibracussor Therapy
The Vibracussor is a vibration instrument that differs from usual massagers in that it uses a piston-like up-and-down movement rather than a back-and-forth movement. It creates comfortable waves of compression that travel through the tissues to the affected muscles and fascia, allowing the instrument to release fascial adhesions, relax tense muscles and increase circulation and lymph flow. It give me the option to vary the frequency of the percussion in order to target specific tissues and tissue depths.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!
2019 is almost here and I am excited for it! 2018 was definitely an adventure for me both personally and professionally.
Personally, I became a daddy to such an amazing girl. I never thought I would become a father, but I was blessed at the age of 40. She is the light of my life and I love her more than I could ever imagine. Yup, she has this dad wrapped around her finger already!
Professionally, I started my own mobile chiropractic business in September. I had to leave the office where I was associating at because of some shady business tactics that they were doing. I do not compromise my ethics when it comes to patient care and trust, so I left and went out on my own. Now I get to practice how I want, spend the time needed on clients, and deliver exceptional care.
A few before and after client highlights:
New Operating Hours, Session Times & Rate Changes
A lot of people have messaged me asking for more session time options. There are some people who just want a quick session while others are wanting longer. So here are the new options with the prices reflecting accordingly starting January 1, 2019:
To clarify, for Mobile/Out Call Sessions, it is a one-time travel fee of $30 to a specific location. The $30 travel fee isn't applied to each individual getting a session at the same location. For example, if I come to your house and perform four (4) 30 minute sessions for a family of 4, it would be $40 per person for the session and then $30 travel fee, for a total of $190.
The following will be the new operating hours starting January 7th:
Monday: 10:30pm - 6:30pm
Tuesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Wednesday: 10:30pm - 6:30pm
Saturday: 12:00pm - 3:00pm

I use Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation as part of my treatment protocol for clients. I implement IASTM as an option to resolve pain and tightness in the body. The instruments make it easier to detect and treat fascial dysfunction, triggering an inflammatory healing response.
IASTM is another option to resolve pain and tightness in the body. This approach to fascia work reduces friction which allows for precision, sensitivity and depth.
IASTM instruments make it easier to detect and treat fascial dysfunction. They magnify the abnormalities (scars, restrictions and adhesions) in the fascia and make it easier to locate the area to treat. Using a tool focuses the force through an area smaller than your finger with less friction which allows a more efficient treatment. The goal is to trigger an inflammatory healing response. This will stimulate the production of new collagen and proper, functional, pain-free healing.
Client came to me experiencing bilateral arm numbness and tingling on a daily basis for a few weeks. Based on a recommendation from a friend, she came to me. I performed chiropractic adjustments to her neck, upper back, shoulders, elbows and wrists. Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) with CBD oil was used along the soft tissue of both her arms. After a couple of sessions, her numbness and tingling went down dramatically!
The purpose behind IASTM is multi-factorial. The techniques are designed to produce a healing response from the body to the affected area. This is accomplished through breakdown of the capillary beds inducing nutrition to the tissues of the injured area. A secondary effect occurs at the site of scar tissue formation. Scar tissue is the body's way of healing injured tissue. However, scar tissue is not as pliable, or contractile as normal tissue. Under a microscope, scar tissue appears as a plate of cooked spaghetti, where as normal tissue appears as a box of uncooked spaghetti. With the pressure of the tools, mechanical changes at the cellular level can and do occur in order to normalize scar tissue as much as possible. The greatest effects from IASTM are experienced when the clinician is aware of the fascial connections up and down stream from the affected area, and can treat an entire limb, as opposed to spot treating, like I did for the client in this case. Important to note is that in order to achieve maximum results with IASTM, a comprehensive exercise program is necessary to stress the affected tissues and remodel the underlying tissues and create new movement patterns, which is why I always give take home corrective movement exercises.
I started implementing Aquacanna CBD Recovery Balm when I do IASTM because it glides better than lotion and is a great product for external pain relief and helps enhance recovery. CBD recovery balm and oil definitely helps, along with some kickass chiropractic care by yours truly!

As effective as rolling the muscles are with a ball and/or stretching is, the benefits are limited if the joints of the ankle and foot are not moving properly. If a joint is stuck, the muscles work harder trying to move it, which creates excess muscle tension and compensation patterns in other parts of the body.
Take this picture as an example. Client comes to me with symptoms of shin splints. While many muscles of their lower leg were tight, which we loosened up with soft tissue work, one of the biggest problems was that the heel bone was stuck.
With the heel bone not moving properly, it creates compensation muscle patterns up the leg, shin splints being one of them. After two 30 minute bodywork sessions, we got their heel in proper position and the shin pain decreased drastically.
Your feet work hard, and with 26 bones in each foot, they are engineered extremely well for walking and running. You usually do this without having to think much about it, walking around Bakersfield, or jogging casually along Kern River Bike Path. However, when things are off kilter and you start experiencing tightness or discomfort in your hips, low back, neck, and shoulders, the secret solution may just rely on having your feet adjusted.
Your feet influence your spine from the ground up. With every step, as you plant your heel to the ground, and you roll forward, your arch has to collapse to absorb energy. Then, when you toe off to push yourself forward, your arch has to go rigid. This transmits forces back into your feet and toes for efficient movement. When things are off in your feet they can cause your posture to compensate for the injury. In turn this leads to a cascading effect across your body. That being said, there are three major benefits to having your feet and ankles adjusted:
The first benefit is one that I discovered firsthand by working on myself and other fellow runners: Reduction of Injuries. Several years ago I decided to start running after reading Born To Run. I noticed how my feet were stiff and not moving properly. So I started to adjust my own feet to loosen them up so I could run more comfortably. As I started experiencing results, I started adjusting the feet of other local runners and they felt the difference too. The biggest difference the runners noticed was they had less injuries and recovered faster when they got their maintenance adjustments every month.
AWARENESS & PREVENTATIVE CARE
The second best thing about foot and ankle adjusting is understanding and awareness. Foot and ankle adjustments help improve proprioception. You’ll have better awareness of where you are stepping and how you are balancing. You will be grounded, and you will have a better sense of symmetry and balance. Having a chiropractor like me that specializes in extremity work, I will explain how the lack of joint motion in your feet and ankles are contributing to injuries in other parts of your body. I will trace that movement down to your feet and make you more conscious of your body’s ergonomics. After our session, I will give you 1-2 simple corrective movement exercises to help restore proper motion. Knowing this can help you prevent injuries in the future, and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
LIVING PAIN FREE
Finally, the most wonderful benefit of foot and ankle health: Living Pain Free. When your feet and ankles are well adjusted, the forces transmitted to your knees and low back are more in line with what your body is naturally designed to do. There’s no funny twist in your knee to compensate for a rigid instep. I often see chronic motions where the heel bone moves in a rolled-in pattern. By performing adjustments to the heel bone, those patterns are improved, allowing your foot to point straight ahead. Consequently, this puts less pressure on your low back, sacroiliac, and hip joints.
When things are aligned and you’re moving more naturally, the muscles, joints, and bones work in harmony. Subsequently, this allows them to deliver the right amount of pressure to the right areas. When all the gears in the engine are greased and functioning well the entire motor runs efficiently.
If you are dealing with any tightness or discomfort in the low back, hips, knees, ankles, calves, heels, or arches of the feet, then come for a session, kick your shoes off, and let me take a look!
Cheers to happy feet,
